Video clips showing vehicles of Qatari security forces moving through the streets of Paris have gone viral on Qatari social media.
The Qatari security forces are in Paris to provide security to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held from July 26 to August 11.
According to comments on social media, the videos showed the prestige of the Qatari security forces (Lekhwiya), in a pioneering step in the field of security cooperation between Qatar and France, especially after the successful hosting of the 2022 World Cup in the State of Qatar and the resulting superior security expertise which Qatar gained.
H E Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), said in a post on X platform last Wednesday: “Today, we bid farewell to the Qatari security forces to assume its duties and responsibilities in participating in securing the Paris Olympics, a choice we are proud of and which confirms the confidence of the friendly France in the efficiency of Qatari security and its successful experiences in securing international sporting events, most notably the Qatar World Cup 2022.”
