Uzbekistan Cultural Week opens at Darb Al Saai

Doha: Minister of Culture H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani opened the cultural week of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the State of Qatar, at Darb Al Saai, Umm Salal Mohammed, on Thursday.

The Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nazarbekov Ozodbek Ahmadovich and Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Anar Alakbarov, attended the opening. Also in attendance were a number of ministers, senior officials, and a number of ambassadors accredited to the State of Qatar.

The associated activities of the Uzbekistan Cultural Week showcase unique examples of intangible cultural heritage, national arts and folk traditions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani welcomed the attendees, explaining that the activities of the Cultural Week of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Qatar come within the framework of strengthening cultural relations between the two countries and introducing the cultures of the friendly country.

These distinguished events preserve and introduce the countries’ heritage, especially since they are held in Darb Al Saai, given its place in the hearts of Qataris, His Excellency said, calling on visitors to learn about the monuments that express the history of the Uzbek people, their traditions and their ancient cultural heritage.
