The US embassy’s booth at Doha International Book Fair has become a major attraction for English readers visiting the fair with its wide array of books on a range of topics that cater to readers of all types.
It’s also one of the booths that offer a large number of English titles at the fair, turning into a magnet especially for literary enthusiasts.

Situated prominently within the sprawling exhibition hall, the exhibit stands out with its vibrant displays.
“The fastest selling books at our stall are our children’s books, particularly Dog Man and Cat Kid which were sold out on the first day itself, said a US embassy representative at the fair.

“We have a total of 3,700 books encompassing 470 different titles. In addition to that we have 3,000 different books about visiting the US that we were giving away for free and all of those were gone on the first day. Then we have children’s books to fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, lifestyle books, and self-help books. We aimed to replicate the experience of a US bookstore, ensuring visitors would feel as if they were walking into a bookstore in the US when they entered here,” he said.

“The collection is truly impressive. I came to the fair with no intention to buy any book and just to feel the atmosphere with my friend but after visiting here I am buying a couple of books,” a customer said.

Timmy T Davis, Ambassador of the United States to Qatar, said: “I’m thrilled to announce the US Embassy’s participation in this year’s Doha International Book Fair. We welcome you to read, learn, and grow across America by exploring the thousands of books at our booth. We’re excited to share our stories with Qatari book lovers and promote literacy, cross-cultural and academic exchange between our countries. Come visit us in hall one”.

One of the highlights of the US embassy’s books is its emphasis on promoting works by both established and emerging American authors. Attendees have the opportunity to explore a wide range of titles, from iconic novels to thought-provoking non-fiction, with embassy staff on hand to offer recommendations and insights.
