Approximately two weeks remain before the Ministry of Interior’s deadline for individuals who have violated residency regulations or overstayed their visas.
On February 9, the Ministry announced a grace period for violators of Law No. (21) of 2015, which regulates the entry, exit, and residence of expatriates. This grace period applies to those who have breached residency rules or overstayed the period specified in their entry visas, offering them an opportunity to leave the country without facing legal consequences.
The Ministry clarified that the grace period began on Sunday, February 9, 2025, and will continue for three months. Violators are encouraged to either proceed directly to Hamad International Airport for departure or visit the Search and Follow-up Department on Salwa Road during official working hours, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., to complete their departure procedures within the specified time frame.
