A young Tunisian woman, Amna Chekron, has tragically passed away in Doha after falling from the fourth floor of a res-idential building during the recent Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
According to Tunisian media reports, the 24-year-old, who was living in Qatar and working in the tourism sector, sus-tained critical injuries in the fall. Her sister, speaking to Tunisian radio station Mosaique FM, said the family was initially informed that ambulance personnel had attempted to resuscitate Chekron after her heart had stopped. However, they struggled to receive any further updates on her condition at the time.
Abdelbasset Hlali, head of the Tunisian Community Council in Qatar, later confirmed the tragic news of Chekron’s pass-ing. In a heartfelt message posted on Facebook, he expressed his condolences to her family and the broader Tunisian community in both Qatar and Tunisia. The message, translated from Arabic, read in part:
“With deep reverence and faith in God’s will and destiny, we received with great sadness the news of the passing of the late Amna Chekron, a Tunisian woman residing in the State of Qatar. As we mourn our dear departed soul, we of-fer our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to her esteemed family and all her loved ones and acquaintances in Tunisia and Qatar.
We ask God Almighty to bestow His vast mercy upon her, to grant her Paradise as her final abode, and to inspire her family with patience and solace. May God forgive her and have mercy on her, pardon her, and grant her an honorable abode and a spacious entrance. May her grave be a garden among the gardens of Paradise, not a pit among the pits of Hellfire. ‘To God we belong and to Him we shall return.’ We ask God to unite us with her in His abode of mercy and to bestow blessings upon her family and descendants after her.”
Chekron was rushed to the hospital for emergency medical treatment following the incident but ultimately suc-cumbed to her injuries.
