Students to research negative impact of Myna bird on Qatar’s ecosystems

A group of female students have undertaken a research on the harmful impact of Myna bird on Qatar’s ecosystems.
The students, from Umm Meibed Preparatory School, recently visited the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change as part of their preparation for the research project, titled ‘Impact of the Invasive Myna Bird on Biodiversity within the Qatari Environment.’
The visit was organised in collaboration with experts from the Wildlife Development Department at the Ministry.
The visit will help students in gathering data and analyse the environmental impacts of this invasive species, which is known to threaten local ecosystems.
Ministry of Environment is continuing a campaign to curb spread of Myna bird in Qatar and launched awareness campaign .
