Souq Waqif Majlis received nearly 150,000 tourists during World Cup 2022

The Souq Waqif Majlis received nearly 150,000 tourists from different countries of the world during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Al Raya reports, quoting Souq Waqif officials.

Hussein Yousef Al Haddad revealed that the ‘Hel Qatar’ Majlis in Souq Waqif was established in 2016, with the aim of giving Souq Waqif visitors an introduction about Qatar, and introducing them to Qatar’s customs, traditions, heritage and civilization.

He stressed that visitors do not stop coming to the Majlis, neither in summer nor in winter. The number of visitors during the summer reaches 1,000 visitors per month, while in the winter it reaches 5,000 visitors per month.

He explained that with cheerfulness and generosity, visitors to Qatar are received at the Majlis, where they get a good impression of Qatar and its people, based on direct knowledge that Qatar is a hospitable, generous people with a great historical and cultural heritage, and also has sublime and noble values that are inherited and preserved from generation to generation, he told Al Raya.

He pointed out that the Majlis is keen to highlight the values and morals prevailing in Qatari society, and also introduces visitors from different parts of the world to the civilization and heritage of the State of Qatar.

“Hel Qatar Majlis in Souq Waqif was established in 2016 with the aim of giving tourists visiting Souq Waqif a good impression of Qatar and the people of Qatar. During their visit to the Majlis, we introduce them to the heritage of Qatar, the rulers of Qatar, the history and customs of the people of Qatar, and its cultural,” he said.

“When a tourist visits a country, he meets the people of the country and gets to know the country through the people who live there. In this way, the tourist gets to know the qualities of the people of Qatar and their morals, which they have known since ancient times, such as kindness, cheerfulness and generosity. The Majlis conveys an image of Qatar and introduces the visitor to the nature of Qatar, as well as the customs, traditions, heritage and civilization of Qatar,” Hussein Yousef Al Haddad said.
