Smart automated parking system coming up on Grand Hamad Street

The Grand Hamad Street is witnessing the construction of a smart automated parking project, which is the first of its kind in Qatar, Al Raya has reported.

Located on an area of 5,121 square meters, the structure’s exterior design resembles a green wall and it provides 600 parking spots.

It also includes a number of shops, service and administrative offices, the report adds.

The project will take two years to complete, and after its opening, it will accommodate six times more cars compared to the old parking site, which could accommodate only 120 vehicles.
The area witnesses huge rush during working hours.

The smart parking system is created by installing metal structures which can rotate clockwise and anti-clockwise so that they can carry the largest number of vehicles.
