Doha: Six Qatari Amiri Air Force aircraft accompanied the plane of H H the Emir of Kuwait to Hamad International Airport to welcome the visit of H H Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, to strengthen the deep-rooted historical and fraternal relations between the two countries. 

This is the first visit to Qatar of Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah since becoming Kuwait’s leader in December.

The relations between Qatar and Kuwait are distinguished at the official and people levels.

The streets of Doha were draped with Kuwaiti flags ahead of the visit of Kuwait Emir. The visit also made headlines in Qatari newspapers, which devoted their front pages to praising the visit, Al Sharq said in a special report.

Citizens of Qatar expressed their happiness through the hashtag #Qatar welcomes_the_Emir_of_Kuwait’ which was the top trending on X. People expressed their love and feelings of brotherhood, sharing pictures and videos, emphasizing their love for Kuwait and its people in the hearts of Qataris and the depth of relations between Doha and Kuwait.

Social media users said that the official and popular welcome to this visit reflects the great friendship between the Kuwaiti leadership and people of Qatar and its leaders.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information had announced the broadcast of special, direct coverage of the visit of the Emir to Qatar on Kuwait State TV.
