SIS student selected as photographer of Asian Cup 2023

Doha: A student of Shantiniketan Indian School (SIS) in Doha has achieved the honour of capturing some of the most thrilling moments of the Asian Cup Qatar 2023 on his camera.

Hishaam Mohamed was selected as a member of the photography team covering the Asian Cup matches, and at 13, he was the youngest photographer in the media contingent at the stadiums. He is an eighth grade student at SIS.

“I consider it a great honour being able to cover the biggest football event in Asia along with senior and reputed photographers from all over Asia and the world,” Hishaam said.

He has covered 18 matches of Asian Cup at all the stadiums where the matches were played. Hishaam’s passion and commitment to photography started at a young age and he is already a member of some professional photography clubs.

He has also contributed to capturing some important moments during various school events such as School Sports Day, Expo, Creative Fest and Interschool debates.

“Hishaam’s exceptional skills and dedication have been recognized on a larger platform as he was selected as a member of the Asian Cup Qatar 2023 media team, marking him as the youngest photographer to showcase his talent at such a prestigious event,” Rafeeq Rahim, Principal, Shantiniketan Indian School, said.

Hishaam is the son of Badaruddin and Ramshida and his sister Hiba Shamna is a singer.
