RIYADH: The Saudi exhibition pavilion at Expo 2023 has set a Guinness World Record for its use of Absen LED.

The pavilion broke the record for the largest display of exterior LED screens, with an array of 435 external LED columns, a report said.

The pavilion also picked up four other awards, ranging from a gold Muse award for conceptual design, a gold French Design Award for interior design and architecture, a LIV award for architectural and landscape design and a silver award from the Bureau International des Expositions in the self-built pavilions category.

The Saudi pavilion drew 1.8m visitors to its 5,000 sq metre site, with a lush green design drawing inspiration from Mount Tuwaiq in central Arabia.

Saleh Bindakhil, the head director of the Saudi campaign, told the Saudi Press Agency: “The pavilion provided a groundbreaking digital experience centred on agricultural and environmental sustainability projects. It showcased over 80 successful Saudi projects and initiatives in line with the exhibition’s objectives, highlighting best practices and innovations in horticulture and environmental sustainability.”

A previous Guinness World Record for the largest display of exterior LED screens was also set in Saudi Arabia in December 2022 by the Sela Company with a display of 275 LED screens used as an entertainment element in a recreation and tourism project in Riyadh.
