Rains predicted in 12 Arab countries including Qatar that can last for up to 10 days

Radical changes in weather systems are happening in the region

DOHA: Meteorologists have predicted there would be a regional and exceptional rainy situation accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and severe rain, covering 12 Arab countries, including the State of Qatar, and continuing for more than 10 days, starting from April 26.

The unusual predication has been made by Arabia Weather website.

According to meteorologists on the website, the countries that will be affected by the weather condition are Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE, Oman, and Yemen.”

According to Mohammed Al Shaker, CEO of Arabia Weather, indicators are that radical changes in weather systems are happening for the benefit of the Levant region and all Arab Gulf countries.

Al-Shaker predicted the emergence of unstable weather conditions, characterized by their widespread impact and prolonged duration, in the period extending from April 26 to May 5.

He predicted that the Saudi capital, Riyadh, and parts of the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar, could be affected by the weather phenomenon.

“The latest weather readings indicate that the impact of the rainy situation will expand in the coming days on the countries of the Arab Levant, and its impact has already begun today, Saturday, on the western parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Jordan,” the website said.

“This weather condition results from the rush of an air depression in northern Arabian Peninsula, which remains in this region for several days and is accompanied by a cold air front,” it added.

Al Shaker noted, however, that it is not possible to provide the final details of the expected weather condition due to the relatively long period of time and the wide margin of error from now on.

In April, the Gulf countries witnessed heavy rains as a result of the depression that struck most of the Gulf countries, causing casualties and huge  human and material losses.
