QRI CC champions in public health sector cricket tournament

DOHA: The Public Health Care Sector Cricket Tournament concluded with QRI CC emerging as champions after a thrilling final against Spikes CC at the Qatar Foundation Stadium.

Organized by Hamad Medical Corporation’s Wellbeing Department, the tournament saw fierce competition among 15 teams from Qatar’s healthcare institutions, including HMC, the Ministry of Public Health, and Primary Health Centers.
In the final, QRI CC batted first, scoring 89 runs in 10 overs. Despite the modest total, their bowlers performed exceptionally well, holding Spikes CC to a tie. In the super over, Spikes CC managed 8 runs, but QRI CC clinched victory on the last ball.
QRI CC’s Shanil Pulikal was named Player of the Tournament and also received the Best Batsman award, while Rajesh Pillai was recognized as the Best Bowler. The matches were officiated by umpires from the Qatar Cricket Association.
