DOHA: The Qatar Meteorology Department has issued a fog advisory for the upcoming days, alerting residents to the possibility for reduced visibility due to mist and fog formation.
In a statement posted on their official X account, the department said that there are chances of fog developing in some areas during the night and early morning hours on Monday and Tuesday. This could lead to a significant drop in horizontal visibility to less than 2 kilometres.
In a separate statement, the department highlighted the onset of a significant seasonal transition. The current period marks the “first of the Yemeni stars” and the sixth star of the autumn season. This period is characterized by high sea conditions, signifying the approach of winter.
During this time, daytime temperatures become milder and nighttime temperatures will drop, leading to cooler nights. Additionally, the formation of rain clouds is anticipated, which can result in rainfall that promotes the growth of desert truffles, a seasonal delicacy.
