QGET celebrates Keralolsavam ‘24

DOHA: The Government Engineering College, Thrissur Alumni, Qatar Chapter (QGET) celebrated the Keralolsavam 2024 at The Hamilton International School with an event that captured the spirit of Onam and Kerala’s cultural legacy.

The event, marking both Onam and Kerala Piravi, showcased traditional Kerala festivities including a music performance, bringing members and families together in a colourful celebration.

Treasurer Varghese Varghese welcomed the gathering, followed by a presidential address by Tomy KV. Formal inauguration was done by lighting the lamp by senior QGET members John EJ, Rajan CK, Tomy K V, Dr. Gopal H. Rao, QGET Vice President and Keralolsavam’s overall coordinator and Cultural Secretary Shahna Zubair, in the presence of Management Committee members.

Dignitaries from different organizations and executive members from other engineering college alum-ni attended the event. Gopu Rajasekhar, General Secretary, thanked the sponsors, programme coor-dinators and participants.

The next highlight on QGET’s calendar is “Roll n Bowl”; QGET Bowling in-house competition, scheduled for November 14, the organisers said.
