Qatari security forces patrol Paris streets ahead of 2024 Olympics

Qatari security patrols, along with French forces, have secured the streets of the French capital, Paris, in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held from July 26 to August 11.

Video clips showing Qatari forces deployed on Paris streets, both foot patrols and in vehicles, are circulating widely on Qatari social media.

Qatari, French and other security forces are conducting foot patrols on the streets of Paris in a pioneering step in the field of security cooperation between friendly security agencies, especially after the successful hosting of the 2022 World Cup in the State of Qatar and the resulting superior security expertise which Qatari forces acqyured.

The participation of the Qatari forces comes within the framework of the security cooperation agreement signed between the two countries last February.

The agreement was signed on the Qatari side by H E Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), while on the French side it was signed by Gerald Darmanin, Minister of Interior and Overseas Territories of the French Republic.
