A Qatari citizen has decided to give a camel of the Saadiya breed as a gift to whoever scores the winning goal for his team in the final of the His Highness the Amir’s Cup between Al-Sadd and Qatar SC, Al Sharq has reported.

The citizen, Hadi Al-Annan Al-Jadna Al-Marri, said that the camel would be a gift to the player who scores the decisive goal in Friday’s big match.

“Whoever scores the winning goal, I will give him a camel of the Saadiya breed, which is one of the original breeds in Qatar. This tournament is dear to our hearts and to the people of Qatar because it is played in the presence of HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the country,” Hadi Al-Marri said.

In the Amir Cup final yesterday, Mateus Uribe scored the winner in 118th minute as ten-man Al Sadd clinched the Amir Cup title for a record 19th time with a 1-0 victory over Qatar SC. The final was played at Education City Stadium.

Regarding the players he loves and the way they play, Hadi Al-Marri replied, “I love Akram Afif. He is a distinguished player with great potential. I also presented him with a ‘Qahidiya’ camel after his excellent performance in the Asian Cup and was crowned with the best player and top scorer awards.”

When asked if his gift would motivate the players to score, he responded: “Yes, the gift will increase the players’ enthusiasm for the final and will make every player aspire to score and help his team score.”
