QatarEnergy plans to build one of world’s largest solar power plants in Dukhan

QatarEnergy plans to begin construction on a giant solar power plant in Dukhan, with a production capacity of 2,000 megawatts, before the end of this year.
According to a report on Qatar TV, the new station will double Qatar’s solar power generation capacity to 4,000 megawatts, representing 30% of Qatar’s total electricity production capacity by 2030.
This station is considered one of the largest solar power stations in the world.
The new solar project will be added to QatarEnergy’s solar power portfolio includes the Al Kharsaah Solar Power Plant, which was inaugurated in 2022 with a capacity of 800 megawatts of electricity.
In addition to two large solar power plants in Mesaieed and Ras Laffan Industrial Cities with investments totaling QAR 2.3 billion and a total electricity generation capacity of 875 megawatts, scheduled to be inaugurated this April.
