Qatar tops list of high-income Arab countries

DOHA: The World Bank has listed six Arab countries, namely Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Oman, and Kuwait, as high-income countries, with per capita GDP exceeding $14,005, according to the bank’s data, Al Raya reports.
Iraq, Libya, and Algeria are classified as upper-middle-income countries, with per capita GDP ranging between $14,005 and $4,516.
Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, Djibouti, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, and the Comoros are classified as lower-middle-income countries, with per capita GDP ranging between $4,515 and $1,146.
As for the countries classified as low-income, with per capita GDP less than or equal to $1,145, they are: Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, and Syria.
