DOHA: As part of its Ramadan campaign, Qatar Charity has implemented the “Mobile Iftar” project, which consists of distributing Iftar snacks to car drivers in several places before the Maghrib call to prayer, which is the time for breaking the fast, Al Raya reports.

Qatar Charity has traditionally implemented this project annually during the holy month with the support of institutions and companies like Qatar Stock Exchange, Ooredoo, Al Mannai Group – Cadillac/GMC, Qatar Railways Company (Rail) etc.

The mobile iftar targets 2,000 fasting people daily, reaching 60,000 fasting people throughout the month with meals.

The distribution of iftar meals takes place a quarter of an hour before the sunset call to prayer at six locations: Al Markhiya intersection, Al Hilal Mall intersection, Al Messila intersection in Bin Omran, in addition to the Islamic Museum intersection and the Safari Roundabout on Salwa Road and Musheirib Downtown. Meals are also distributed at 6 different metro stations.

Locations leading to the entrances to Doha Metro are chosen from several directions, in addition to vital areas within Doha.

The idea of the mobile Iftar, which Qatar Charity has been implementing for several years, is to provide a light Iftar to fasting people who hear the Maghrib call to prayer on the road.

The project embodies the spiritual values of the holy month and the humanitarian principles of Qatar Charity, which are reflected in its mission and permanent commitment to serving the community, providing support to its members, and promoting the spirit of solidarity and compassion in society.
