In response to a video that claims Qatar Airways violently unloaded passengers’ luggage at a European airport, the national carrier has said that the items in the video are not related to passengers’ luggage or bags, but rather post-flight items that were removed to prepare the aircraft for the return flight.

The national carrier said, responding to its followers on the X platform: “Qatar Airways understands your concerns regarding the way some materials were handled by the handling staff of one of the companies contracted with it to provide ground services at a European airport.”

It added: “To clarify, Qatar Airways confirms that the materials in the video clip are not related to passengers’ luggage or bags, but rather post-flight items that were removed to prepare the aircraft for the return flight.”

It added: “Accordingly, we would like to confirm and renew our commitment to following the highest safety standards and maintaining the security and safety of travellers and their property.”
In the video, staff could be seen throwing, from the door of the aircraft, what looked like bags, down the boarding stairs.
