Q-Malayalam organises Qawwali-Ghazal music evening

DOHA: Q-Malayalam, a socio-cultural organisation of Keralite expats in Qatar, organized a Qawwali and Ghazal music evening called Wahee Azman Wahee Sameen at Al Qamar Hall at Ideal Indian School, which was attended by hundreds of music lovers.

The curtain rose on the soul-stirring musical evening with a Sufi Kathak dance by Bhavapadam Natya Sangha.
The ghazal and qawwali musical feast was led by Malayali ghazal singers Al Sabit, Farzana and Faiz along with Pakistani singers Tanveer Khan, Raza Hussain, Akbar Khan and Ghulam Hussain and Nepali artists Santosh Bishwakarma and Jitendra Paswan.
Gayatri, who was nominated for the 2025 Grammy Award in the Songwriter/Composer category, was felicitated at the function. Q Malayalam ex-president Badaruddin and ex-secretary Sreekala Prakashan presented a prize which was received by Gayatri’s parents Karun and Bindu Karun, in her absence.

Q Malayalam Secretary Murshid Muhammad welcomed the gathering and President Nawaz Mukriyakat presided over the programme. Programme Convener Iqbal introduced the artistes.
Arun and Srikala joined Radio Suno to compere the programme.
