Pravasi Doha, one of the oldest expatriate organizations in Qatar, organized the annual Vaikom Muhammad Basheer memorial lecture at ICC on Friday.
Ashraf Thoonery, journalist and documentary director, delivered the keynote address. Norka Director C V Rappai presided over the function. K M Varghese welcomed the gathering and Iqbal Chettuva expressed the vote of thanks. A K Usman presented a memento to Ashraf Thoonery.
Vaikom Muhammad Basheer lecture is organized every year by Pravasi Doha and it has also instituted an award in the name of this legendary Malayalam writer.
