DOHA: The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) and Kerala Women’s Initiative Qatar (KWIQ) joined hands for Pusthak Mela Season 7 as part of ICBF’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

The event, held at the ICBF premises. was spearheaded by KWIQ and provided a platform for expatriate families to exchange academic books of their children, thereby alleviating the financial burden on many families.

For six consecutive years, the KWIQ Pusthak Mela has served as a lifeline for parents eagerly anticipating this event. From March 26 to March 30, parents had the opportunity to donate their children’s old academic books for those who need them for the next level of education.

This not only aids families in saving money but also ensures that children get enough time for academic success

Indian Ambassador HE Vipul, who lauded the uniqueness of the event, pledged full support from the embassy for future Pusthak Mela initiatives.

ICBF Vice President Deepak Shetty welcomed the gathering and ICBF President Shanavas Bava emphasized the importance of Pusthak Mela in nurturing empathy and compassion in children. KWIQ President Anju Menon spoke about the evolution of Pusthak Mela over the past six years.
