Old Passport building turning into a commercial complex

Maintenance and restoration work is underway on the old Passports building in Al Gharrafa area, with the aim of transforming it into a commercial complex and markets.

The building has been known since the 1980s as the headquarters of the main Passports and Expatriates Affairs Department, and hundreds of citizens and residents used to visit it daily to complete their transactions.

Work is currently underway to redesign the building from the inside and outside to be in line with the new plan. The new complex is expected to contribute to commercial activity in the area, especially since it is located opposite one of the famous commercial markets in the country, which is Al Ali Market.
