The Ministry of Interior has officially announced a set of regulations governing the towing of caravans and trailers across Qatar, urging residents to strictly adhere to safety standards and travel protocols.

According to the new directive, all towing vehicles must use the Orbital Highways and their designated exits, remain in the right-hand lane, and refrain from overtaking other vehicles. The ministry also stressed that towing is strictly prohibited during adverse weather conditions to ensure road safety.

Towing Timings: Sunday to Wednesday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday to Saturday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
In addition to the route and timing rules, the ministry outlined specific safety requirements for caravans and trailers.
These include:
Proper functionality of rear lighting on the towing vehicle
Well-maintained brakes and tyres
High-quality rear (red) and side (yellow) reflectors
A valid fire extinguisher onboard

The ministry also specified the maximum permissible dimensions:
Maximum width: 2.60 meters (including the load)
Maximum length: 3.5 meters for a single axle, 5 meters for a double axle with width 4.20 meters (including the load)

Authorities have emphasized that these measures aim to enhance safety and reduce risks on the roads, especially as the number of caravans and trailers in use continues to rise.
