Ministry releases list of ride hailing apps authorized to operate in Qatar

Seven operators in the list including Karwa and Uber

DOHA: The Ministry of Transport and Communications has released the names of the official companies sanctioned to offer passenger transport services through electronic platforms in the country.

This announcement was made by MoT in their X account and it aims to streamline and regulate the expanding ride-hailing industry in Qatar, ensuring both quality service and compliance with regulatory standards.

Among the authorized ride-hailing applications listed by the Ministry of Transport are Uber, Karwa Technologies, Q-Drive, Badr, Aber, Zoom Ride, and Ryde.

The list reflects the range of options available to commuters seeking efficient and convenient transportation solutions across Qatar.

In a stern warning to potential violators, the Ministry said that legal measures will be swiftly enacted against companies found operating without the requisite licenses.
