Mega Indian community festival on 7- 9 March at MIA Park

Doha: Embassy of India, in coordination with the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), will organize a mega Indian community festival under the theme ‘PASSAGE TO INDIA 2024″ from 7th to 9th March 2024 (Thursday to Saturday) at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park from 2pm to 10pm. 

This event is organized with the support of the Qatar Museum.

Addressing a press conference at the ICC on Wednesday, HE Mr. Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, said “this year is a special edition of Passage to India as we are celebrating the 50 years of diplomatic relationship between Qatar and India.”

The festival will showcase and promote the diverse Indian cultural richness, achievements of modern India and boost Indo-Qatar and expatriate’s friendship. 

Stalls will display various items like handicrafts, clothes, jewellery etc depicting a variety of Indian culture. There will also be food stalls operated by licensed vendors in Doha, serving various Indian delicacies.

The event also features a ‘Photography Exhibition’ showcasing the works of 100 photographers from Qatar.

The festival will also feature an enthralling performance by ICCR sponsored Qawwali Troupe from India, a Mega Thiruvathira, a traditional group dance form from Kerala, Mega “Raas Dandiya” (Garba), Dog Show by Dog Squad (MoI), Live Musical Show and Chenda Melam. Finalist of India’s Got Talent season 3, and Speed Painter Vilas Nayak will also perform a live speed painting during the event.

As part of the celebration, 40 long-term Indian residents in Qatar will be felicitated. 

A free transport service has also been arranged to the venue during the event. The pick-up points will be communicated nearer to the date and entry to the event is free for all.

This mega event will be organized with the whole-hearted support and active involvement of various socio-cultural organizations of our community.

Along with the ambassador, Sachin Dinkar Shankpal, First Secretary – Embassy of India, Bindu N Nair, Second Secretary, and Manikantan AP, President – ICC, P N Babu Rajan, Passage to India Organizing Committee Chairman and Subramanya Hebbagelu Vice President ICC, also attended the press conference.
