Lusail Classic to feature 30 classic racing cars from early 1980s

The second edition of the Lusail Classic will take motorsport enthusiasts back to the golden era of endurance racing as part of the 2025 Qatar 1812 KM race weekend. This exclusive 60-minute support race will feature an exceptional grid of 30 classic racing cars from the late 1960s through early 1980s, piloted by veteran drivers from across Europe.
The event will showcase some of motorsport’s most iconic machinery, including multiple examples of the legendary Lola T70, the legendary Porsche 911 RSR in various specifications, and the thundering Chevrolet Corvette C3. The diverse lineup represents a perfect cross-section of endurance racing’s most celebrated period, with cars that once competed at legendary venues like Le Mans, Spa, and the Nürburgring.
International talent from eight nations will take to the track, with strong representation from France, Germany, Great Britain, and Switzerland. Notable entries will include the Ferrari 512 BBLM of Alexander Rittweger and Sam Hancock, the Porsche 935 of Emmanuel Brigand, and multiple Chevron B19s that exemplify the best of British engineering from the early 1970s.
The event schedule includes: Free Practice on February 27; Qualifying on February 28; and Feature Race on February 28.
The Lusail Classic will serve as a perfect complement to the main Qatar 1812 KM event, bridging the past and present of endurance racing. Spectators will have the opportunity to see these historic vehicles up close during open paddock sessions and witness the raw power and sound that defined motorsport’s most acclaimed era.
