Leaving everything behind, Omani surgeon travels to Gaza to treat Palestinians

Doha: An Omani surgeon has left the comforts of life and job in his city of Muscat to travel to Gaza and the city of Rafah to treat its injured people after the world had abandoned them, Al Sharq reports.

The Omani doctor’s sacrifice sparked great reactions and huge praise on social media platforms. 

Omani surgeon Ayman Al-Salmi arrived in the city of Rafah in Gaza a few days ago and began his work treating Palestinians injured in the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Al-Salmi, who works at Khawla Hospital in the capital Muscat, arrived at the Rafah crossing a few days ago after a long and arduous journey, and upon his arrival in the city of Rafah, he began performing his humanitarian role by treating injured Palestinians.

The Mufti of Oman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Khalili, also praised Al-Salmi’s sacrifice, calling for “doctors in our country and other Islamic countries …. to follow his example.”

Social media widely shared the news of Al-Salmi’s arrival in Rafah.
