A Kuwaiti content creator, Fahad Al-Ajmi, posted a video clip from Souq Waqif, while he was repairing a pothole in one of the roads leading to the market, Al Sharq reports.
Al-Ajmi collected bricks and sand and placed them over the “drainage manhole” in an orderly manner so as not to disturb passersby. He wrote a comment on the clip, “Souq Waqif, Qatar is my country and I want to see it in its most beautiful form.”
The video has been viewed more than 800,000 times, and many followers in Qatar and Kuwait have commented on it, praising his initiative to remove harm from the road.
Some said that he should have informed the competent authorities, especially since they do not hesitate to repair any road damage.
The Public Works Authority (Ashgal) quickly commented on the video, on the X platform: “Thank you for your concern, and we confirm that everyone’s safety is the priority. Temporary maintenance has been carried out until the necessary procedures for permanent maintenance are completed. We appreciate your efforts and concern, and may you be well.”
