Kathakalaya’s ‘Virasat 2’ dance festival poster unveiled

Doha: Kathakalaya, a prominent cultural organization, has unveiled the official poster for its much-awaited annual dance festival, Virasat 2, at Radio Malayalam 98.6.

The event will take place at the ICC Ashoka Hall on February 14, 2025, at 6 PM. An evening of Kathak dance is set to showcase over 50 talented artistes under the choreography of Mousumi Saha, an ICCR teacher and Cultural Ambassador.

The poster release event was attended by Mousumi Saha, founder and guru of Kathakalaya, Kuldeep Srivastava, Program Media Coordinator, a few of her students, R J Shifin, Program Head Ratheesh, and Media Consultant Shalzar from Radio Malayalam 98.6.

The festival promises to present a stunning visual of traditional Kathak performances, offering an unforgettable experience for the audience, the organisers said.

The event is being supported by Saravana Bhavan as the title sponsor and Flamingz Pizza as the premier sponsor. Other key supporters include Radio Malayalam 98.6, Teastop, Kalyan Silks and Malabar Gold. Co-sponsors Aryas, Winmax Engineering, and Gmax Hypermarket have also lent their support to ensure the event’s success, the organisers said.

The evening will also see a host of dignitaries excelling in various fields. The festival is open to the public, offering an opportunity for the community to enjoy the rich cultural heritage of Kathak.
