Katara to organize 12th Halal Qatar Festival from Wednesday

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) announced that it will organize the 12th edition of Halal Qatar Festival Wednesday at Katara.

Running until Feb. 26, the new edition will feature Al Mazaen event distributed to three categories, namely the Arab sheep and goat and Syrian sheep, along with events accompanying the festival, namely the pavilions dedicated to the productive families and art workshops.

Chairman of Organizing Committee of Halal Qatar Festival Salman Al Nuaimi said the festival has deepened its premium standing for cattle breeders in Qatar and the GCC states by virtue of a distinguished economic platform the event offers to showcase the best species of goat and sheep, in addition to highlighting their advantages.

The festival draws all those who are most interested in Halal in Qatar and the region, Al Nuaimi said, adding that after 21 years of its inception, the festival remained one of the best and powerful convergence platforms to exhibit a range of distinguished Halal species in spurring and competitive atmospheres opening broad horizons in investment in livestock, as well as achieving self-sufficiency and sustainable food security.

The festival undertakes the cultural role, preserves the Qatari patrimony and promotes the popular legacy and national identity of the current generation, he highlighted, pointing out that Al Mazaen is set to hold the events of Halal Qatar Festival for six days to showcase the most premium Halal species within certain criteria decided by professional jury committees.
