Inspections held at Al Wakra Port to ensure compliance with laws

An extensive inspection campaign was carried out at Al Wakra Port by officials of the Marine Protection Department at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) to ensure that boats are complying with laws to protect the country’s wildlife.

The campaign was held with the participation of the Coast Guard at the Ministry of Interior, the Fisheries Resources Department at the Ministry of Municipality, the Ministry of Transportation, and Qatar Tourism.
The campaign was held also to make sure that fishermen are employing safe fishing methods and are using equipment that preserve biodiversity and coral reefs in the sea.

The campaign, which started at one o’clock in the afternoon continued until five o’clock in the evening.
