Indian Sports Centre concludes Badminton Tournament

DOHA: The Indian Sports Centre concluded the India Cup Open Badminton Tournament, Season 2, with the finals and closing ceremony held at Beta Cambridge School, Al Meshaf.

The event witnessed a tremendous response from the Indian community, with over 500 participants competing across 33 categories.
The tournament was graced by Indian badminton legend, Padma Shri Prakash Padukone, who served as the Guest of Honour. Chief Guest of the event, HE Vipul, Indian Ambassador to Qatar, expressed his pride in witnessing the growing enthusiasm for sports within the Indian community in Qatar.
In his speech, Padukone lauded the participants for their dedication and skill, particularly highlighting the promising talent displayed by younger players.
Men’s singles was won by Arjun Shinde after beating Emmanuel Emmy Joseph, Men’s Doubles were grabbed by Akshay and Shijas beating Endy Rojak and Jacob Thomas. Girls U17 was son by Anusree Shine beating Adlyn mary Sojan, whereas Boys U17 champion was Pridhav Shyam Gopan beating Abhinav Nair. Adam Noujas won the Juniors U9 beating Nivedya Aji.
