Doha: The Embassy of India in Doha has announced a Request for Proposal (RFP) for outsourcing Consular, Passport, Visa (CPV), and miscellaneous attestation services. The announcement was made today on the Embassy’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, inviting proposals from experienced and qualified service providers.
According to the official statement, the outsourcing initiative aims to enhance efficiency in delivering essential services to the Indian community in Qatar. Interested parties can access the detailed information regarding the proposal on the official website of the Embassy of India, Doha, at: https://www.indianembassyqatar.gov.in/users/assets/pdf/tender/doha_06feb2024_tender.pdf.
Meanwhile, a similar restructuring effort is underway in the UAE, where the Indian Embassy is set to replace its current passport and attestation centers with 14 new service centers across the country. The move comes as part of a major restructuring effort to streamline consular services for the over 40 lakh Indians living in the UAE. The initiative will centralize all consular services under one roof, making the process more accessible and efficient for Indian nationals and foreigners applying for Indian visas.
Speaking to News Trail on the occasion of Republic Day, Indian Ambassador to Qatar, H E Vipul, emphasized the Embassy’s commitment to improving service delivery. “It is our constant endeavor to serve the Indian community at our best. We have taken measures to ensure time-bound delivery of passports and other consular services so that people have clarity and their time is valued. We are exploring the possibility of further streamlining the delivery of our consular services, including by outsourcing them to a professional agency,” he stated.
The move reflects the Indian government’s broader vision of enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of consular services for its expatriate community.
