India-Qatar seafood buyer-seller meet held in Doha

The India-Qatar Seafood Buyer-Seller Meet was held in Doha between representatives of Indian seafood exporting firms and Qatar-based seafood importing firms to pave the way for new business deals, aiming to bring more fresh Indian seafood to Qatari markets.
The meeting, which took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, was jointly organized by the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), the Embassy of India in Doha, and the Indian Businesses & Professionals Council (IBPC), Qatar.
“We have organized this buyer-seller meet to bring together importers and exporters of seafood. Today, we have a strong delegation of 8 to 10 exporters from India and have gathered several importers from Qatar. The basic purpose of this meeting is to increase India’s exports. We are a leading producer of seafood items in the world across the categories of fresh, chilled or frozen,” Indian Ambassador Shri Vipul told News Trail.
Dr M Karthikeyan, Director of MPEDA, led a 10-member Indian delegation representing eight seafood exporting companies. Representatives of 20 Qatar-based seafood importing firms participated.
Abdul Sathar, Vice President of IBPC, welcomed the participants. Mr Vipul delivered the inaugural address, emphasizing the importance of the meet in boosting India’s seafood exports.
