Iftar tents ready to receive thousands of fasting people

Awqaf Ministry to provide 700,000 iftar meals during the holy month at 20 locations

Doha: Iftar tents are ready and preparations have been completed to receive fasting people.

The sizes and capacity of the tents vary according to the location and the number of fasting people expected to receive. Charitable organizations are keen to provide all amenities in these tents, such as air conditioning and cleaning water, and provide a variety of breakfast meals of the highest quality, in addition to dates, water, juices and milk, Al Raya reports.

The iftar tents are located in Doha, Al Khor, Al Thakhira, the Industrial Area, Simaisma, Abu Hamour, Ain Khaled, Al Sailiya, Al Rayyan, Bin Mahmoud, Al Montazah, Souq Faleh, Umm Salal Muhammad, Salwa Road. Al-Wakrah, Bin Omran, Al-Aziziyah, Old Airport, Souq Al-Ali, Umm Ghuwailina, Al-Sulaimi, Muraikh, Al-Thumama and other areas of the country.

The General Administration of Endowments at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs had announced that 700,000 iftar meals would be provided throughout the holy month of Ramadan, at 20 locations throughout the country, including five sites for distributing meals.

This is an important initiative of the administration for the community during the holy month, which aims to spread the spirit of solidarity among members of society.

The number of distribution sites and the number of beneficiaries have been increased due to the generous contributions made by the pious for this initiative.

As for the Iftar projects for the fasting people under Qatar Charity’s Ramadan campaign, meals will be provided and Iftar tents will be set up at various regions of the country, at a cost of more than QR 17 million, benefiting about 900,000 people. Among the most important of these projects are “Mobile iftar” for farm workers, and tables for fasting. Community Iftar will be held for workers throughout the month at 39 locations.

Many fasting people are keen to come to the tents to break the fast provided by charitable organizations. It is expected that these tents will receive hundreds of thousands of people at, and will focus on single workers.
