HMC publishes 5-step guide to schedule an outpatient appointment

The Hamad Medical Corporation has published a 5-step guide to scheduling an outpatient appointment at HMC.

In a post on X, the HMC said making and managing “your appointment has never been easier” as it has simplified the procedures for getting an appointment.

The following are the various steps:

Step 1: Obtain a referral

Where to visit: Attend a Primary Health Care Corporation or a private health center to obtain a referral.

Referral requirements:

  • Health Card Number
  • Valid Contact Number
  • Physician’s Stamp and Signature
  • Medical History or Diagnosis

Referral submission:

PHCC: Electronic referrals are directly sent to HMC by PHCC physicians and processed automatically.

Private Centers: Upload your referral through the Nesma’ak Patient Portal on www.hamad.qa Our referral booking management services team will register your referral.

Step 2: Appointment scheduling

Your appointment will be scheduled according to schedule availability and clinical guidelines, ensuring you receive a suitable date and time.

Step 3: Confirmation

You will receive an SMS confirmation with your appointment details including date, time, and location.

Step 4: Reminder

An SMS reminder will be sent close to your appointment date.

Step 5: On the day of the appointment

Arrive 30 minutes before your appointment time with your health card and necessary documents. A bank card will be needed for payment, if applicable.

The HMC said that to change or cancel an appointment, the person must contact the Nesma’ak Call Center at 16060. This service is available 24/7.

“We recommend notifying us 24 hours in advance to allow another patient to utilize the slot,” the HMC said.
