Hamad Airport issues guide for passengers for smooth travels during Eid Al Fitr

DOHA: As the Eid Al-Fitr travel period approaches, Hamad International Airport (DOH) has issued a set of guidelines to facilitate a seamless travel experience for departing and arriving passengers to meet the expected increase in travel traffic during this period.

  1. Early Check-In:
    • Save time by checking in online and arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight.
    Check with your airline for online check-in options to streamline your journey.
    • Qatar Airways offers early check-in for economy passengers from 12 to 4 hours before
    departure, until April 5, 23:59H, excluding US and Canada flights. QR Passengers using early check-in get a 10% discount at Qatar Duty Free stores.
  2. Self-Service Facilities:
    • Self-Check-In & Bag-Drop: Utilize our self-service kiosks to check-in, print boarding passes, and tag your bags. Drop them off at the bag-drop counters before proceeding to border control.
    • E-Gates: Citizens and residents above the age of 18 can expedite the immigration process using e-gates (restrictions apply). Minimum height to use the E-Gates is 130cm.
  3. Baggage Guidelines:
    • Passengers are reminded that baggage allowances and weight restrictions will be strictly enforced by airlines. Non-standard or oversized luggage is discouraged.
    A baggage repack area is available in the departure hall with luggage weighing machines to assist passengers.
  4. Parking:
    • Use the dedicated parking facilities for quick drop-offs, pickups, and short stays. Avoid leaving vehicles unattended at the curbside.
    • Enjoy special discounted rates for long stays in our car park (using the pre-book option only), ensuring proximity to the terminal.
    • Car rental and limousine services are all located close to the arrival hall.
    • Valet Parking: For the ultimate convenience, drop off your vehicle with our valet service available at Departures.
  5. Security Checks:
    • Prohibited Items: Ensure no prohibited items like liquids, aerosols, and gels are in your carry-on. Pack liquids in 100ml containers within a clear, resealable bag.
    • Electronic Devices: Remove electronics larger than a mobile phone for X-ray screening.
    • Lithium Battery Restrictions: Small vehicles powered by lithium batteries, such as hoverboards, are not allowed.
