The administration of a Qatari school has won praise on social media for praying collectively for a sick student via the school’s public announcement system, Al Sharq has reported.
In a video circulated widely on social media in Qatar, one of the school staff can be seen making a prayer, asking the school students to pray to God to heal their schoolmate Salmeen bin Mohammed Al Suwaidi’s illness, saying: “Our student Salmeen Al Suwaidi has fallen ill, and today we pray for him and ask God Almighty for his speedy recovery, so repeat with me the words ‘Amen,’” he said, after which he recited the prayer.
Saud Al-Muadheed posted the video and praised the school’s actions, saying: “Oh God, Amen. Thank you.”
The school’s kind gesture was met with great appreciation and praise from social media users. They commended its behaviour, which reflects our good morals and strengthens the bonds of brotherhood among students, and urged them to follow the tradition of praying for the sick.
