For first time in the region, Doha to host rhythmic gymnastics

DOHA: Aspire Zone Foundation announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with Sky Grace rhythmic gymnastics acad-emy to organize the second edition of the International Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, Sky Grace 2024.

The championship is set to take place from Nov. 20 to 22, 2024, at the Aspire Dome, marking a notable event in Qatar’s sports calendar.

The championship is a unique sporting event being held for the first time in the region.

The opening ceremony will feature a unique artistic display embodying the essence of athletic competition, where athletes will compete using five primary apparatuses: the hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon, and rope, showcasing impressive skills.

Spectators will witness exceptional performances combining the technical and aesthetic skills of rhythmic gymnastics.

The opening ceremony will feature a captivating promotional display by Sky Grace Academy, inspired by major sports films, designed to showcase the championship’s highlights.

The display will include striking footage from past Sky Grace events between 2021 and 2023 in cities such as Moscow, Sochi, and Beijing, along with appearances by Olympic champions, officials, and gymnastics stars.

Chief Marketing Officer at Aspire Zone Foundation Nasser Abdullah Al Hajri said that the agreement with Sky Grace Academy strengthens Aspire’s ongoing efforts to support diverse sports activities in Qatar.
The championship is set to attract wide interest from sports enthusiasts and the public in Qatar and the region, en-hancing Doha’s position as a premier destination for international sporting events.
