Foodstuff store, meat shop closed for violating food laws

DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality has announced the temporary closure of two establishments for violating the food control regulation law.

The Ministry said that Al Shahaniya Municipality has closed the Al Nasaem Foodstuff establishment for a period of three days for selling expired food, indicating that food is considered spoiled, damaged or unfit for consumption if its expiration date for use has expired according to the date written on the product.

The Ministry also said Al Rayyan Municipality has closed a meat trading establishment for a period of 14 days.

The duration of the closure is determined by the competent municipality director according to the type and severity of the violation
