Action taken for violating law that prohibits workers’ accommodation in family residential areas

As part of its efforts to preserve the urban landscape and implement Law No. 15 of 2010 prohibiting workers’ accommodation within family residential areas, Doha Municipality has evacuated a residential building in Rawdat Al Khail area that housed more than 500 workers, Arabic media reported.

The municipality explained that during the evacuation process, several additional violations were detected, in-cluding internal divisions that violated Law No. (4) of 1985 regarding the organization of buildings, violations of Law No. (17) of 2017 regarding public hygiene, practicing commercial activities without a license, and random storage inside the building, in addition to the seizure of food items prepared in unsanitary conditions.

The necessary legal measures were taken in coordination with the relevant government agencies, and the viola-tors were referred to the security authorities to complete the legal procedures against them, the report adds.

The Ministry of Municipality, through its various municipalities, continues its efforts to prohibit workers’ hous-ing in the middle of family residential areas.
