The General Secretariat of the National Planning Council has launched a survey to collect information about the community’s opinions and attitudes towards the use of electric and hybrid cars in Qatar.

The National Planning and Statistics Council said that participation in this survey is important to help understand the views, preferences and potential barriers related to the adoption of these vehicles.
The Qatari car market is witnessing a remarkable growth in the purchase of electric cars.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Thani, a technology expert, revealed that the electric car has several advantages, including that it breaks down less, repairs and maintenance are less, and the cost of charging it in Qatar is still free, but if it were to be paid, it would be from 8 to 12 riyals at most.

Electric cars have a number of features, including complete dispensing with fuel and oils, in addition to integrated electronic systems, whether for driving systems or safety services, in addition to taking into account environmental standards and clean energy.

Last January, Kahramaa announced the start of providing all fuel stations in the country with charging units for electric cars, as part of a project scheduled to be completed within two years.

Kahramaa is committed to providing electric vehicle charging stations across the country, in line with the sustainability goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Kahramaa plans to establish hundreds of electric charging stations by 2030 to promote green transportation across the country.

It has started installing fast charging stations in government buildings, shopping malls, hotels, gas stations, and public and private parking lots, with the aim of expanding the network across the country.
