Chaliyar Women’s Wing organizes ‘She Swims 2024’

DOHA: As part of its 10th-anniversary celebrations, Chaliyar Doha Women’s Wing conducted “She Swims 2024” at Al Wakra Green Stadium.
The event was the first-ever swimming competition held exclusively for women within Qatar’s Indian community, the organisers said.
Participants competed in two categories based on age groups, with contestants ranging from teenagers to women over 50, reflecting the event’s motto that creativity and skills have no age limits.
Winners in Category 17 years and above are: Riya K.T, Hala Kajal, and Safna Filser. In Category 13–17 years, the winners are: Sayuri Akash (Rajagiri Public School), Hanna Lynn Josie (MES Indian School), and Fadhwa (MESIS School).

The event was inaugurated by Muneera Basheer, Chairperson of the Advisory Committee, with General Secretary Femina Saleem delivering the welcome address. President Muhsina Zameel presided over the event.
The closing ceremony featured trophy distribution by Parvinder Burji, management committee member of the Indian Sports Center (ISC) and Head of yoga trainer. Advisory Convener Shahana Ilyas extended congratulations to the winners.
