Doha: Chaliyar Doha observed Chaliyar Day on January 11, the death anniversary of K A. Rahman, an environmentalist, who fought for the protection of the Chaliyar River.
Chaliyar Doha was also formed on January 11 2015.
Media One reporter Mujeeb Rahman Vazhakkad inaugurated the event held at the ICC Hall renowned writer M T Nilambur delivered the keynote address. Jaisal Elamaram delivered the KA Rahman memorial lecture.
Chaliyar Doha President Zameel Abdul Vahid Chaliyam delivered the presidential address and General Secretary C T Siddique Cheruvadi welcomed the gathering and Jabir Beypore proposed vote of thanks.
Chaliyar Doha Chief Advisor V C Mashhood, Chaliyar Doha Founder Member Siddique Vazhakkad, Kodiyathoor Pain and Palliative Qatar Chapter President Noufal Kattayat, General Secretary Basheer Thuvvarikkal, Cultural Forum Malappuram District Secretary Shameer Veettilakath, Eppaq President Faisal Babu and leaders of different panchayaths under Chaliyar Doha participated in the event.
