The waste transfer station at Al Khor is a major part of Qatar’s waste management infrastructure, with a daily capacity of up to 1,500 tonnes of waste, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has said.

Several senior Ministry officials visited the station, including Dr. Soud Khalifa Al-Thani, Director of the Green Development and Environmental Sustainability Department.

The visit was meant to assess the role of the private sector in realizing the goals of the National Environmental Strategic Plan. Hassan Malallah, CEO of Global Co., the Station’s operating company, spoke about the station’s key achievements and its future plans.

“As part of its support for the efforts of the private sector to achieve the goals of the Third National Development Strategy, a delegation from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change visited the waste transfer station in Al Khor, which is an essential part of the waste management infrastructure in Qatar, with a daily capacity of up to 1,500 tons of waste,” the Ministry said on X.

The Al Khor station’s operation includes sorting, reducing, and transporting waste to recycling plants.
