A suspicious message claiming residents in Qatar have unpaid traffic violations has been circulating across various digital platforms, raising concerns about potential phishing scams.
In response, the Ministry of Interior (MOI) Qatar issued a statement on social media urging the public to remain vigilant. “The Ministry of Interior Qatar urges residents to ignore such messages, avoid clicking on unknown links, and always verify any claims through official sources such as the Metrash app or the Ministry’s official website,” the tweet read.
The Ministry further advised the public to carefully verify the authenticity of any web links before taking action, warning that such fraudulent messages are designed to steal personal information or install malicious software.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior (MOI)’s General Directorate of Traffic is organizing several events on the occasion of the 37th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Traffic Week, held under the slogan “No Phone While Driving.”
