QR 14.5 m in prizes for golden and silver sword rounds at H H Amir Camel Festival

The Organizing Committee of the annual Grand Festival of Purebred Arabian Camel Racing, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, has announced that prizes worth QR 14.5 million have been allocated for the winners of the top five positions in the prestigious Golden and Silver Sword rounds.

These final rounds are expected to witness fierce competition among the finest camels from across the Gulf region, particularly in the climactic Golden Sword race, known to be the highlight of the festival and one of the most valuable events in the sport.

Camel racing enthusiasts from across the Gulf are eagerly anticipating the grand finale of this much-loved traditional festival. The closing ceremony will be held next Tuesday at the Al Shahaniya racetrack and will feature five main rounds.

The first three races—for the Golden Daggers and the Golden Shalfa—are scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the Silver and Golden Sword races at 3:30 PM.
